Karate
For children aged 4-12 years
What to expect from our Children's Karate classes:
These sessions will be taught by a 5th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate and part of TISKA (Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association) who are members of the English Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation.
We use what is known as semi-contact or light-contact training, meaning that everything is carried out in a controlled manner, and students do not actually hit or hurt each other during training!
There is no equipment used in the beginners’ lessons.
Who can take part?
The lessons will be suitable for beginners of all ages and anyone who has previously studied karate for up to 6 months and include some basic techniques, basic sparring techniques, set routines (kata) as well as some basic self-defence techniques.
Parents are welcome to stay, watch and even join in!
What you will need:
Wear comfortable clothes, trainers and bring a bottle of water to drink. All abilities welcome.
