Being part of the AITC community through volunteering can offer many benefits, including but not limited to; building social connections, gaining transferable skills, contributing to the well-being of others, seeing the positive impact your help will have on those around you.

We have a range of volunteering opportunities to suit what you can offer! Check out some of our volunteer roles below.

Volunteer at our inclusive cycling sessions

Wheels for all

Wheels For All is an inclusive cycling initiative designed to provide individuals with disabilities of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the thrill and freedom of cycling. 

Sessions run every Saturday, 12:30-2:30pm at Little Marlow Athletics track, and every Sunday between 11am-1pm at the Kingsbrook School, Aylesbury.

Volunteering responsibilities can include tasks such as; Meeting and greeting individuals, helping participants pick a bike to ride, and supporting and encouraging participants throughout the session. This program relies on volunteers – If you’re available every week or even once a month, your support will make all the difference!

Community champion Aylesbury, Chesham, High Wycombe volunteering

Comunity Champion

As part of our Staying Active, Staying Connected project we are looking for friendly individuals, based in Aylesbury, Wycombe or Chesham, who are confident in socialising with stranger. 

As a AITC community champion, your main responsibility will be signpost members of your community, particularly older adults, to local activities to help them become more active and less socially isolated! Our colleagues will support you by providing you with a list of local sessions and contact details.

Trainee bike mechanic

AITC, in partnership with Otec Bikes, will be servicing and repairing over 140 donated bikes within our Bike ReCycles project. This provides an exciting opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience of bike servicing and repairs – learning from the experts at Otec Bikes!

No previous experience is necessary. If you have an interest in cycling, mechanics or bike maintenance,  please contact Bolu.Fisher@aitc.org.uk for further information.

Active in the Community is a not for profit organisation that aims to help get our communities moving more, through providing “Affordable and Accessible” activity programmes and community facilities.  

We are currently looking for part-time and full-time staff to join our growing team. Please find further details of our current vacancies below. 

AITC team

School Community Lettings Officer

Full time, or part time, permanent role. £10.50 – £11.44 per hour. 

Lead on the safe running of the community school facilities within a number of the school sites we work with. Additionally, the officer must look to build a relationship with the community sports and activity clubs and organisations to help ensure that they receive a top-class experience whilst working with us. 

There is a strong career development pathway within the organisation for those looking to progress to positions of further responsibility.
