Who are AITC?
Active in the Community CIC (AITC) is a not for profit, community interest company, founded in 2017.
AITC has two main services, “Community Projects” and “School Lettings”. Community Projects is our projects, programmes and events that are delivered for the community within local settings to improve individuals physical, mental and social well being. School Lettings is our facility management service, we fully manage the facilities within 12 school sites and 3 community venues.
We currently operate across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire.

Meet our Directors

James Cavalier
With over 20 years of management experience, James leads on the “Schools Lettings” service.

Ian Rose
5-time Paralympian and former European and World Champion. Ian provides mentorship and coaching across our team and services.

Kirsty Gillingham
Masters in Project Management and a verified Public Health Practitioner, Kirsty leads of the ‘Community Health’ service.

James Palmer
James provides guidance on the facility operations of the business. His experience as General Manager of the National Sports Centres adds significant value and expertise.

Kirsty has been a Director since the inception of AITC. Specifically overseeing the Physical Activity arm of the organisation from a strategic point of view as well as being responsible for securing investment to deliver our services.

Focus area: Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire
Adam is our Head of Physical Activity, responsible for overseeing our fantastic team of individuals. Ensuring the delivery and quality of contracts, services and projects. As well as building effective relationships with partners to strengthen our delivery.

Amelia Evans
Project Officer
Focus area: North Buckinghamshire
Amelia oversees all physical activity development across North Buckinghamshire, specifically managing the following projects:

- Inclusive Cycling Centre at Stoke Mandeville Stadium
- Seated Exercise & Forever Cycling
- Referral pathway (Aylesbury focus)

Katie Youngman

Focus area: South Buckinghamshire
Katie oversees all physical activity development across South Buckinghamshire, specifically managing the following projects:

- Over 50’s Activities, including Better Balance, T’ai Chi, Pickleball

Bolu Fisher
Project Officer
Focus area: Aylesbury
Bolu is tasked with delivering our “Bike ReCycles” project. A pilot project delivered across Aylesbury, providing eligible residents a free quality checked bikes. We aim to deliver x200 bikes between 2024 – 2025 to those in need.

Fiona McArdle
Project officer
Focus area: East Hertfordshire & Broxbourne
Fiona manages our two community assets, Hertford Wellbeing Hub and Pinehurst Community Centre. This includes managing bookings and establishing new activities for the community.
Fiona also oversees the development of Hertford Men’s Shed – a purpose built facility to bring men together to connect, create, repair and repurpose, linking with ‘Herts3Cycle‘ scheme.

Adam Nnochiri

Focus area: North Hertfordshire
Adam covers a multitude of physical activity programmes specifically targeting North Hertfordshire, as well as some that are County wide. Some can be found below;
ParkPlay is two hours of FREE fun every Saturday in local parks and open spaces across Hertfordshire.
Delivering Live Longer Better events across North Herts, East Herts and Broxbourne.
