About the sessions:

Our postnatal circuit classes are designed to gently rebuild fitness and strength, whatever stage of your postnatal journey you’re at. Small group sessions combine low-impact cardio and strengthening exercises to support healing, restore core strength and build confidence.

Each 45-minute session includes mobility and core work, a guided strength circuit, and a restorative cool down. With time for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat at the end.

Who are these Postnatal Fitness Classes for?

These classes are for anyone postnatal who wants to build fitness in a fun, safe, and progressive way. Be ready to get your heart pumping, break a sweat, and build strength.

If you’re newly postnatal, you’ll need to have had your GP post-birth check and been cleared to exercise. This is usually 6 to 8 weeks after birth, or 12 weeks after a c-section.

All fitness levels are welcome. There’s no need to worry about childcare, you can bring your baby along or attend on your own.

Additional Information and FAQs

The postnatal circuits class include a mixture of bodyweight and resistance exercises. All equipment will be provided. However, we advise bringing water.

Your clothes should be comfortable and breathable, layers are recommended so you can remove or add as needed. Please make sure your baby is suitably dressed.

These classes are all about fun and fitness. It is a relaxed environment where you work at the level that is right for you. This may mean that some women are doing slightly different exercises to you and that’s okay. Before your first session you will need to have a pre-screening chat so we can discuss your postnatal stage and exercises will be given that are appropriate to you.

It is usually a good idea to feed baby before coming to a session, this means baby isn’t hungry and you can get an hour for YOU. If you’re breastfeeding this also ensures you are more comfortable when you are exercising.

Just let me know! You can drop out from the session and can come back to the group when you are finished.

Babies cry! Don’t worry. If your baby won’t settle and you need to take him or her out of the buggy you will need to pause your exercises. However, you can keep with the group and as soon as baby is settled you can resume your exercises.

Before you come to a class you will be asked to complete a pre-screening form and then have a chat with our instructor, Nicola. We can go over any concerns you have about your pelvic floor and core and discuss if the circuits classes are right for you. If you experience leaks, pain, or have a large tummy gap then you may be advised to join Nicola’s Holistic Core Restore® Everywoman or Diastasis Recovery programmes or to seek the advice of a women’s health physio.
