Hertford Wellbeing Hub

Background

Welcome to the Hertford Wellbeing Hub!  AITC took ownership of a disused building in the central area of Sele Farm, Hertford in April 2021. Since then, we have worked in partnership with the local community and organisations to renovate the building, bringing it back to a usable standard as well as finding out what activities the community wants and needs.

Renovation work

Working with Volunteer It Yourself, we have renovated the inside of the wellbeing hub, bringing the disused building back to life. Thanks to the young people, referred via Herts police, the local DWP and youth services, the space is now more accessible and usable.  All the young volunteers were upskilled and trained thanks to the VIY skills mentor, providing them with City & Guilds qualifications in carpentry, painting and decorating.

A big thank you to East Herts District Council and Sport England for funding this renovation project in addition to Dulux, Travis Perkins and GAP Group Careers for providing tools and materials.

Activities and space to hire

AITC are working with a number of local residents, partners and stakeholders to bring a whole host of community led initiatives in due course.
