Inclusive Cycling
Our inclusive cycling programme aims to remove barriers to cycling, especially for those with disabilities.
Run with regular volunteers, these sessions provide a safe environment for all abilities to enjoy cycling.
With our range of adapted cycles from; Trikes, quads, wheelchair carriers, hand bikes, tandem and children’s trikes, there is something for everyone!

Donations
Inclusive Cycling provides opportunities for individuals with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling, enabling them to enjoy physical activity, develop motor skills, and foster social inclusion in a fun, supportive environment. Our programme uses adaptive cycles such as hand cycles, tricycles, wheelchair carriers and tandems, ensuring everyone, regardless of age or ability, can experience the joy of cycling. Last year we helped over 200 residents access cycling through our centres running at Marlow and Aylesbury.
Individuals with disabilities often face significant barriers to accessing recreational activities, particularly sports like cycling that can require adapted equipment and specialised support. There is a growing recognition of the need for inclusive physical activity opportunities locally that promote independence, confidence, and overall well-being. Unfortunately, many families struggle with the high costs of adaptive cycles and limited local programming designed specifically for disabled individuals.
Your support will directly contribute to creating a positive, inclusive environment where disabled individuals in Buckinghamshire can thrive through physical activity. Every contribution, whether financial or in-kind, plays a crucial role in transforming lives and building a healthier, more inclusive community.
Together, let’s pedal forward to a future where every individual has the chance to experience the joy of cycling and the benefits it brings.
How much should I donate?
Absolutely every penny raised will go towards supporting our 2 Inclusive Cycling centres in Aylesbury and Marlow and every donation allows us to continue to make an impact and enable as many individuals to access our adaptive bikes as possible! If you are looking to donate, below is a short list of how your money may be used.
£5 – we charge a small fee to participants to access our sessions which contribute to the on-going costs of running the sessions. £5 could cover an individuals weekly attendance fee.
£15 – Some of our participants are a little more competitive. £15 would cover the cost of a pedometer to go onto a bike to allow someone to track how far they have cycled in the session.
£30 – This would cover some basic equipment to help maintain our bikes, such as pumps or new inner tubs for the bikes themselves.
£50 – This would cover the cost of a DBS check for any volunteer wanting to support our Inclusive Cycling programme as well as a volunteer t-shirt!
£75 – This would cover the cost of 15 sessions which would allow an individual to attend sessions throughout our term, offering them the chance to come every week to the session.
£100+ – Due to the adaptive nature of our fleet of bikes which need to cater for a wide range of disabilities, replacing the bikes we have is a very expensive part of our programme. Our 2 person tandem bikes, which can allow a child who would not be able to cycle unaccompanied to ride with a parent or support worker, would cost £4,725 brand new according to “Fun2Go”. Your donation would contribute towards a larger pot to buy in new, needed cycles.
